Michif’s grammar comes from both French and Cree; it has French nouns and Cree verbs. Ironically, these elements are the most difficult parts of their respective languages. Theoretically, if you know French and you know Cree, you can learn to speak Michif with relatively little difficulty. But Michif is more than just a mix of French and Cree, it is it’s own language with its own twists.
